Dodgy dreams... (No not that type :D )

Post by MadManMike »

Anyone ever get really messed up dreams?

Last night I crashed my new car really horrifically driving it home. It was extremely gorey and I woke up sweating.

What kind of stuff do you guys dream of? Keep it clean

I have many normal dreams but a few abnormal.

Occasionally i have dreams of stuff that actually happen (not 100% accurate of course) Its rather scary to be honest, especially one thing that happened.

A few weeks ago I had a dream where I asked my dad to shoot me and he did and I woke up trying to stop blood coming out my stomach!

Don't ya just hate the first few moments of waking up thinking it's still real then it dawns on you!

The worst ones were my first days of admiring ladies whilst at school... You be pulling an immensely fit lady, obviously your "dream" girl, because she wasn't real you could see her as whatever you liked... Anyway, you'd be getting in there and then your mum comes in "WAKE UP YOU LAZY GIT, YOU'LL BE LATE!"

I hated my school days

Or I'd win loads of cash, and wake up in a foul mood realising i'm as skint as ever...

How can a dream actually put you in a bad mood ALL day? :)

I get mixed reactions from this story so you may or may not believe it but this dream happened a week before 9/11.

I'll cut a long story short because i wanna turn my laptop off anf go home lol

I dreamt i was on holiday with my mum in new york. We jumped on the coach setting off to go to central manhattan. When we got to the bridge into new york we were denied access due to problems and when i looked out of the window there was tonnes of smoke coming from the centre.

Ended there but you get the drift.

lol rarely get enough unperturbed REM kip to have any proper dreamstates at the mo, nothing i can report properly... couple of stand outs from the past that were really bizarre

One reccurent thing from when i was little was standing in the playground of my (primary) school, looking up at the sky, a feeling of suffocation and then it flips to an out of body view, shooting down from the heavens towards my upturned face like a suicidal fighter jet, impact, all goes hot and white and there's the classic mushroom cloud image .... at which point i wake up in any utter panic. Old enough to know it's not real of course, but it does put the sh*t up me. At one point I even woke my parents by crying out at point of impact, who of course had to ask me what was wrong, reassurred me etc, which eventually put an end to it, though it came back a couple times I had more of a subconcious feeling of "not this again, jeez" even thru the suffocating phase.
Course this all came on not long after I was treated to a pirate VHS of Terminator 2 round at a mates house... certificate 18, we were half that :D what can i say, it looks relatively lame nowadays, but that scene where LA gets hit just blows your mind when you're only 4ft tall.
(Luckily, after that, he got cable, and were introduced to the joys of 24 hour porn and german dinner-time major-network softcore dramas on his folks' premium subscription :D happier dreams from then on hehehe)

Think now that the suffocation was a touch of apnoea (not convinced i dont continually suffer it) holding me just away from the lucid side of conciousness, and the heat was panic sweats

And the one more adult dream i can really remember well, i.e. even just basic details (i think i wrote it down at the time, which is really the only way to remember something non-reccurrent otherwise it fades after about 10 minutes).... its long and complex and wierd, but the main bit i can remember is being in a metro (yes an old classic 80s one), driving, oddly RH drive car on continental drive-right road, some girl in passenger seat (no memory of face if she had one, or clothes, but long dark hair)... night time or early dawn, come to the crest of an empty motorway, remember it as 2 lane and a bridge over it for some reason, car stutters as if its out of petrol and we coast along the downhill side into a services/motel thing (perhaps its the states?).. only a few lights on but we get a room. There's a trapdoor for some reason, like a round manhole, open it and theres a service ladder downwards into a short metal shaft. End up in some sewer / service duct arrangement, dimly lit, water dripping and standing puddles, right into a group of marines. Dunno why but they take us on, we get all the gear, set off on a mission. Shooting at a space ship. Aliens take us prisoner............
then for some reason it morphed into leading a load of shop workers onto the roof of a sainsburys car park and watching a meteor streak across the winter sunset sky and explode on the horizon, in a funky update of the original "nuke" dream... if it was actually a meteor, not a rocket.

Which is really, really f*cked up as far as i'm concerned, and although I know it's just a product of too many mushrooms, herbs and cheese in the spag bol, its produced an odd superstition in me of high rise car parks with orange signs near by, particularly with good vantage points on the top ... i'm very wary near them. Breathed a sigh of relief (as well as annoyance) when the nearest sainsburys - which, when built, actually provided both the town centre's main supermarket and it's main car park, being a multistorey on top of a shopping arcade - closed down and gave way to the more primary coloured wilkinsons.
