STEERING WHEEL

Post by ZOMBIE »

Hi guys, bought a pukka sparco steering wheel with boss off pheonix and it doesnt fit on my car [coupe s], looks like theres a collar around the spline stopping the boss going on on my steering rod. Is there a difference between the coupe s and standard polo steering wheels? me and polokris seem to think so! help me please as im desperate to fit it, otherwise il have to sell it on to someone who has a car that it will fit. :( :( :(

don't think theres any differance, if its the of the collar on your rod being too big the adaptor sleeve thats on it can be removed. hth

Late model mk2's had the same hub as the late mk2 golfs and the mk3 polos, whereas early mk2's had the old type hub with larger splines, the same as the majority of mk2 golfs and all mk1 watercooled vw's. My guess is you've got the hub for the early type car and you have a late type car. If so, the adaptor on the car's hub can be removed using a puller of some description, revealing the old splines beneath it.
