How can i apply 6n2 Xenons to my 6n ?

Post by The FASTEST »

Hi everybody...

I have 98' polo 1.6 8v.....i want to change my head lamps to polo 6n2 Xenons...I know that i have to buy 6n2 hood, 6n2 front bumper, 6n2 fog lambs, 6n2 side fenders, and 6n2 xenons.

Apart from these, do i need any electrical modification or any modification?

Thanks in advance....

its really a headlight swap that you want if your doing that but theres nothing the same exept for the switch in the dash
if your doing it for 6n2 headlights then theres a lot of custom work and someone will be saying KA-CHING
if your doing it for the light output and all the other advantages of xenon then imho you would be a lot better off buying a kit from VAG parts as its a lot less expensive and will take hundreds of hours off the copnversion time

I think you need the bonnet locking bar (or whatever the word is) as well. It connects the two parts of the car together, and the bonnet lock is in the middle of it. You know what I mean.

:D

All in aal, lots of work and a pretty cool mod.

Why is this in 'New Polo' by the way?

i moved it here as i thought it would get more responces than in the chassis section
Chassis
Discuss Suspension, Brakes, Wheels and Tyres
Moderators Josh_PoloGTi, polo2k
and i didnt think it fitted in those catagorys but if another mod feels it would be appropriate else where then please feel free to move it on again

Agreed. Maybe a mod of this forum could duplicate it and put a copy there as well.

Especially i am doing it for light output. Except lightning i am happy with my headlights..if my headlights used 2 bulbs (one for long distance lightning and one for normal lightning [ i cant rememeber the right words :) ] , i would convert it. In Turkey one of my friends coverted his Golf MK3 GTi's bulbs to Xenons. First he bought mk4 look headlights then 2 BMW ballasts from junkyard and 2 xenon bulbs.....it costed around 425 euro( 750.000.000 turkish liras ) there are a lot of zeros :D... unfortunately 6ns uses only H4 for long and short distance.....
.......but these headlights can be used (below )

but this time these are not sold in Turkey furthermore they are not cheap 320 pounds (747.000.000 turkish liras) in U.K....and you can't put strobe lights in these....

does anyone know what is the cheapest way using xenons in 6n ?

If i get you true, you are mentioning about a bar between engine and headlights , front grill....Am i right ? and there is sticker which shows Air Conditioner's information, isnt it?

By the way your polo is really nice.....what is your tyre size ?

As you can see, lots of work involved with this one (new bumper, lights and grill) but the bonnet and fenders (or front wings as we call them here) have all received custom work - so many hours will be spent doing this.

Unless your a skilled welder, i'd give this one a miss.

Try some of these with a HID kit from VAGparts

would involve much less work.

By the way, the bit the bonnet (hood) closes onto is called a slam panel

xenon auxillary lamps from hella?? maybe a modification of their bora upgrade kit?

wouldn't give as clean a result, but might the simplist way of doing it.

don't know if you can fit these into the front valance, per 6n2 and 9n fogs.

don't really know - i have no experience in this area.

i know these headlights..they are in-pro....but the problem is these have housing for only H4, but has XENON H4 long distance lightning as halogen H4 ? :?:

.I have found some xenon kits on the web..price is 495 usd....do you know that XENON H4 bulbs have long distance lightning? if it does , it will be much less cheaper...

Thanks, they're 195/45-15's actually.

I think you need Martyn's Bi-xenon kit. It has the H4 bulbs that serve the main beam (normal driving) and the high beam (for use on unlit backroads and such). They're still in development if I'm not mistaken, but I'll check.

You can use your current headlights (or use In-Pro's clear lights) and fit the kit without the hassle of changing the complete front-end.

Hope that helps!
