will the gear knob and gaiter from a 2002 16v polo fit onto my 1998 polo??

Should do, not sure about the gear gaiter base/surround though

I would think so, its possible to fit a mark IV golf gear knob + gaiter to a mk4 polo - theres a guide somewhere... can't think of the link.
Im sure its possible anyways!
