What type of polo is mines/How do i find out.

I was wanting to know what the 6N and 9N was all about what does this mean, and how do i find out what mines is. Ive only had it 2 weeks now, and i dont know much about them, but i love it. Its a 1.4, 3 door, W Reg.

Hi , if your car's model is between 1994 - 1999, yours is mk4 (6n).

if it is between 2000 - 2002, at this time it is mk5 (6n2)

finally if it is produced in 2002 or after this date , it is 9n

the 6n-6n2-9n is basically an internal vw platfoprm coding system but all you need to know is that
6n=mk4
6n2=mk5
9n=mk6
however there are some variations like the 6kv which is a mk4 estate iirc
