Please help me!

Right, after being delighted about fitting my new seat the polo has really come back and bitten my arse.

Took it to the car wash and in the middle it just died. So I guess it's possible some water could have gotten somewhere?

This is what's happeneing.

When you turn it over if it kicks in at all it hovers at about 500rmp for a few seconds and then dies, if you put your foot on the accelerator it dies right away. When my dad and bro towed it back my brother tried to kick it over as it was being towed and it kicked but just died again.

Took the engine cover off and the air filters are pretty clean, my brother thinks it could possibly be a fuel problem?

Anyone had this kind of problem before or sound familiar to anyone?

I dont know your car, but i'd be surprised if you've drawn water into the engine.

I'd guess that it might be water somewhere on the ignition system -coil pack or plug leads, it doesnt sound like it's firing on all cylinders

you must have got unlucky with a jet of water squirting in the wrong place, but hopefully if you can't find any water anywhere (or loose connectors) it might just evaporate!

The tripometer now reads "service 2569 miles" and when I turn the ignition on(but not ticking over) it flashes "serice insp" I don't know if that's a coincidence but it didn't say that yesterday.

Also it happened JUST as I was driving into the carwash so I don't know?

Anyone know if the service thing is of any relevance?

Thanks for the advice mike, just tried it again and now it ticks over perfectly but just wont kick in?
