Universal remote central locking

Does anyone know if i can simply splice directly in to the wiring loom on the central locking pump.

I tried to do this, with no luck - then again, I had no wiring diagram for the factory loom, so had no idea which wire controlled what. Should be possible, but I guess the VW system is not so standard

Fitted a Votex kit to mine, search forum for 'votex' and author 'inder' (me) for more info on that route
