About the "Leccy Windows" DIY...

Post by Berseker »

Hi I'm an Italian boy that had got a green Polo 6N as first car...i like it and i'm very happy with it..

After i've seen the various DIY posted on this forum, I'd like to do on my car this modify (the "Leccy Windows" one), but i can't find the place where the relays shown in the pdf are...

Can anyone help me?? I have the 2nd version of the 6N ( dated November 98...)...oh be warned that i haven't a Haynes manual...

I'm sorry if my english isn't perfect...

Thanks

Ah ok, you have the secend version of the centralelectric. search for a relay on the place like on the picture:

Image

thats the relay on the right side....if you are not sure if this is the right relay just pull the relay and if the windows don´t work after that then you can be sure that that´s the relay. just put the bridge in instead of the relay.
The bridge on the pic is selfmade with a small peace of wire before i found out that u can use an original sparepart from VW.

Btw: The relay can also sit on the new centralelectric...

Tell us if it worked or not....

Cheers

Yep, just a case of bridging that connection

You could DIY a bridge as in pic above, or get part in guide - pre made metal bridge that will just slide in place

Hope it goes well :)

ok, the info you gave me will be very useful....

only that previously i was talking about the problem that i wasnt able to find the place in the car where the entire block of these relays are

where i have to look? somewhere under the cockpit??
in a place near the "fusibles" block? (i hope this is the correct english word for the italian "fusibili")

i hope you understand what i mean...and i'm sorry for my poor knowledge of these things!!

In the end i tried to make the bridge with bad results...

Cristian6N if i can ask, could you post a screen of your specific selfmade bridge?? i'd like to see how you did this...

Eventually i'll order the part at a VW dealer...

@inder ....luck was not sufficient, i suppose... :)
