My new toy

Post by tom_mk5 »

Hey

Went out today and ended up coming back with this little baby. Excuse the crappy pics, crappy stand and crappy aerial. I've ordered a wall mount for it, but they didn't have any in stock so it'll be 10 days before it's mounted properly- at the moment it's on my old 12" sub box. 8) Also, excuse the little indoor aerial, once it's mounted it'll be routed to sky+ box but that's still stuff i've got to sort out.

Nevertheless, it's absolutely awesome, looks the dogs b*******s and picture quality is amazing- even on a crappy indoor aerial!

It's a 32" HDTV.

Sound is good, although i'll be hooking it up to my Logitech Z-5500's.

Yeah I just been going round the Nurburgring on GT4 and playing some San Andreas- absolutely awesome, loving it.:)

Starting to regret selling my slimline PS2 now, currently borrowing the normal one from my bro, doesn't suit the sleekness of the TV.:(

Under £800?!

wow, if i actually bothered a great deal with tv any more other than a sleep aid/laughter inducer/news source, id be tempted by that to one-up my brother and his (2nd hand cash converters) 28" wide tube...

the empire direct specs are a bit lacking - do you know the resolution and all that jazz? its got a VGA-looking port on the side, hopefully its quite high rez (1920 x 1080 was it that HD goes up to?) for a great PC experience if you hook it up that way....

*imagines replacing 19" 1280x1024 PC panel with one of those babies* ohhh yeah

fully readable 2- or 3-page A4 spread in word processor, massive space for image processing or soundtracking, near-native rez display of 3 megapixel photos ... not to mention easy playback of downloaded video clips / DVDs saved to hard disc as divx
