Jon - The rear bumper is a custom GLX one, a new number plate recess added and the exhaust cut out moved to the opp side. The side skirts are cut and shut from a Mk3 Golf GTi and the front bumper is from a GLX but has the gaps meshed rather than plastic - with an Ibiza splitter underneath. speak to James at JBS for a similar job www.jbsautodesigns.co.uk
If thats the case i really wouldn't suggest getting these wheels, if your going for 16s get the Chronos as the spokes go right to the edge of the rim and therefore it will make the wheels look like 17. But if your going for 15's you want a flat faced (like speedy's Ronals) or a deep dish wheel.
I know where you're coming from, at the moment I've got 13" 7 spoke Aez alloys and they look like toy wheels. The std steels seem loads bigger by comparison
Also hadn't thought about the visual effect you get when the spokes go right to the edge of the wheel. Good point.
Having a light coloured car (silver in my case) also seems to exaggerate the std 4 x 4 look.
Also try and keep to a low profile tyre - as a bigger sidewall will make the wheel look smaller.
as for the silver car thing, theres no way round that one! all i can say is dont cut corners when lowering it, make sure you get the arches rolled professionally and get some coilovers.
