G60 brake upgrade?

Post by smokeGTI »

I saw some posts mentioned that G60 discs are straight bolt-on
to 6n2 GTI, and the only mod is fit a G60 caliper carrier.
That would be too good to be true!

Can anyone confirm that?
Are they sit just fine with stock 15" BBS rims?

Just got the discs measurement, POLO GTI is 25mm thickness,
but G60 has 22mm only. Does that affected the caliper piston
travel while the pads are start to wear?

not sure what the advantage would be though?

someone please feel free to enlighten me! just doesnt seem to make sense that thinner discs would increase braking effectiveness?

i'm a bit of a novice, but am prob having all four alloys off my gti in the next couple of weeks - so could be open to fitting better stuff, are the brakes really that much better with these discs?

what do i have to do, and what parts or tools would i need? where could i buy the parts and how much is it likely to cost?

They'll cost you about £150+VAT front only.
