just get a small sub for the boot - not a huge one just a sensible sized one much better for the sound stage

you can cut holes in the rear door trim (or non-door trim, 5dr or 3dr?) and put them there. I've seen it done before.

Or like bstardchild said, perhaps an 8" in a stealth box.

this may not be the best of picture, but i have put speakers in my rear quarter door cards, i have a 3door mk4

im putting some components in the "non" rear door cards, im going to mould and fit an insert for the section where it curves inwards :)
