as above, got a MK4 polo on an R- plate with a few mods, want to fit either a debadged front grill, or a black mesh type!

also looking to fit a VR6 spliter, picking one up from euro car parts on the wkend! are they hard to fit?

Anyway,

The choice of grill is up to you, of course, but I definitely prefer the badgeless one. I've got that one as well, so I'm biased obviously...

The lip won't fit straight on, but you knew that of course. It'll involve a bit of trimming, cutting, cursing and screwing it on. I must say I haven't changed my lip yet but I've read a whole bunch of write ups on the SEAT lip. It's more or less the same thing, I'd imagine.

Whereabouts in Bucks are you from. I'm in Herts but close to the Herts/Bucks border.

For the mesh grille go for a Kamei, they are expensive but the best. I had one on mine but switched back to my standard grille and black VW badge. I didn't like not having my VW roundel on the front

but the black badge looks better than the silver one.

The Seat splitter seems to be the one that most people go for.

A black badge is pretty affordable too, in any case it's cheaper than a complete grill.

And it's an OE part too!

DIY black badges are an option too.

Yep the black front badge is a cheap but effective mod.

I also have the rear vw roundel from a VR6 Highline which is pretty classy looking.
Must get around to putting it on the car though

Cheers for the replies, I'm going for the OE black badge for now, then see about getting the mesh grill later!

VR6 spilter on saturday! need to give it a service, so I'll be ordering a few bits form VW 2day!

That highline badge, is it greyish in colour?

Hi Alex, I rung VW, they don't keep the badge in stock, so I'll be spraying it to see what looks like, then decided wether or not to get a new grill..

In the mean time if you are able to stick the part no up here, that would be great! VW quoted me Â£12.86 + vat for the black badge!

Here's what our German colleagues state:

Die Teilenummer fÃ¼r das vordere VW-Zeichen lautet: 323 853 601 041 und kostet um die 8Euro
die Teilenummer fÃ¼r das hintere VW-Zeichen lautet: 1H6 853 630 C 01C und kostet ebenfalls um die 8Euro

As always, double check these numbers to see if they're accurate. Perhaps Martyn or Ash @ Vagparts can get you one for a better price. Check with them in their forum at the bottem of the main page.

If the badge isn't in stock, it's likely to be either there the next day or if it's on backorder within the week. You can ask the delivery time, they can see it on their screens.

@Speedlaw I think I know the grey badge you are talking about. I saw one of those on a VR6 tonight.

The Highline badge is different to normal rear badges in the fact that it's totally smooth rather like the centre caps in Indianapolis wheels if you know what I mean.

I think I like the black one better actually, but that Highline version is quite rare.

Hi Alex, I ended up spraying the badge black, came out ok, so for now I'll leave it, picked up the service kit for the car lastnite from VW & ordered and paid for the VR6 spilter too, picking it up 2nite..

I've fitted loads of spilters to different cars! shouldn't be hard..

as for pics, when I get round to getting a new PC @ home, I'll get some pics up..
