Where does this grommit lead to?

Post by inder »

Do I need to remove the glovebox to get to the other side of it? Nice and large and would like to use it for several wires... or any other large grommit is nearby?

Get an alarm wiring loom through, a load of wires taped up, approx 1/2" to 1" max of cable

Look to the other side of the bulkhead- if I am right in thinking, like you've said, that one is to the passenger side of the engine bay. Look across from that, there is one just as big but with less wires going through and they aren't in a tube so to speak so easier for threading through. The grommet comes out just above the brake pedal inside the car, if you can get down and get a good look up you will see it.

I found this the best way of getting a power cable through into the car which was a 2 awg cable which aren't the thinnest of wires to be threading through a grommet.;)

Sounds interesting m8, thanks for the info - will check up around the brake pedal area as suggested - would be better thru there anyway I guess, as most connections for the alarm wiring loom will be made at the fusebox area :)

In which case you can feed it through above the brake pedal and go straight up and behind the dash into the fusebox. Perfect.

Must be blind, I've removed the plastic bit covering the pedals, looked up and cannot see it from car side :?

Got a picture from your archive m8? Hope you have, lol before you sold your baby?

Oh wow, sorry lol, thought it was much lower down Tom, basically feed through there and will drop/be pulled down to pedal area? Great stuff

Hi Neil, glad I know that one is possible now, good as a backup, cheers! p.s. do I need to remove the glovebox?

It might be.

Nah in passenger foot well, move the wee foam bit and stick hand up - to roughly behind the cd player (Its not as far up as that and its not in the centre) Suppose its a case of trying to imagine where it is while u move your hand about. When i dropped a parking permit down the gap between the window and dash i put my hand up there and got it back lol.

I found 4awg bad enough to get through my peugeot, had to drill tha bulk head, and I think that was a 13-14mm hole.
