Very nice rims mate.

Shame about the sealant and that, surely the german guy will fix you up with the stuff you need for free or at a reduced price at least. Tell him your a lawyer and that upon purchasing the rims he was entering a legally binding agreement and hence ensuring them safe for the road ( assuming he didnt tell you about sealant etc ) then add on some yada yada about court, compensation and legal fees.... :P

One prob with your alloys will be cleaning me thinks :?

Other than that........how much you want for them????
:P

hi mate, nice choice of rims!

i'm not sure that the rears are 8.5" wide tho as i've got 8" on mine and the dish doesnt look deep enough... plus my toyos look a bit more stretched. i may be wrong tho, its been known before!

i've heard that guy does the rims cheap off ebay but have heard a few complaints, hope he's reasonable about sorting your problem!

take it easy!

Iceyplo. Thanx for comments!
They measure exactly 215mm which is 8.5" I got 195.50.15 on both the front and rear.
I know that if u measure a 15" wheel it's actual about 16" cos they dont measure all the way to the edge so maybe Iam wrong, just out of curiosity what size of tyre have u put on your rims?

Vortice. Thanx for comment
My car sits on GTI suspension with eibach 40mm lowering springs, hope this helps!

I like all those big words you've used! I might just copy and paste everthing you said and just say that your my mate who is a lawyer lol. I'll let you know about cleaning when they get dirty, before the tryes went on I put some Zymol on so hopefully this will help, my car isint going anywhere right now so they'll stay clean for a wee while more.
When i put them up for sale I'll let you all know!

The front wheels are going into a place in Airdrie called wheel service (very original)

Wheels Services
40, Main St, Plains, Airdrie, Lanarkshire ML6 7JE
Tel: 01236 842554

I'll let you know what the outcome was and if they where any good, will also keep you posted on mr bbsrims!

Glad you all like them makes it worth the effort!
Later all

like i said been known to be wrong before! :D

i've got 195/50 on rears but will go for a 195/45 soon because they dont look stretched enough for what i want...

keep me posted on how it goes with the seller

p.s. how many knuckles have you scraped on the bolts when your cleaning the rims? i managed to limit it to 2 today!

meant to say i started using the meguiars metal polish on the rims the other week and its brilliant for bringing them up shiny, i found its not as coarse at autosol too....

Latest news on bbs rims

Post by mk5 polo »

Little update on the rims.

After about 5 e-mails our e-bay trader Mrbbsrims decided to reply.
He offered me about 30 EUR compensation I said 70 EUR would be more acceptable which he agreed to, and has transferred to my SWISS BANK ACCOUNT (yeah right)

Wheel Services where pretty good. There was a kink in the wheel that had to get flattened out; they provided me with a spare alloy for £3.50. I had to take the wheels of myself when I got there but they did give me some tools to do it. Would go back there again!
