Put my sony headunit from my 6n into my 6n2, worked fine. Proceeded to properly fix it in, give it a bit of a push and it clicked into place. Turned it on and....nothing.

Checked everything but couldn't see the problem so put it back in my 6n, worked fine. Put my gamma back in my 6n2, worked fine. Put my sony into my 6n2...still nothing.

It's driving me INSANE

this is probably a stupid thing to say but here goes.......
when my brother fixed my radio for me he made it work the first time he put it in, but after that it wouldn't run.
had to check the power wire with his funny meter jobby-had to switch the wires around or somik and had to change the fuse also
i know this dont help but it sounds similar to what happened to mine so maybe will point you in the right direction........

Connect the HU up but dont push the unit into the cage and test it

You may find that it does work but when your pushing it into the cage that you may of knocked the Heaunit connector slighlty.

The amount of times ive pulled my HU in n out and found that theres an odd options which doesnt worked cause ive accidently knocked the connector

Check the fuses too

When I had my audio in the last car I opened the glove box, saw a little gold thing and thought oh well, then thought hang on a minute, checked it again and it was one of my RCA's. Somehow the amp was still working?

no i tested it again outside the cage and still nothing, it's really weird. I realised upon fitting my new stereo that now my stereo has to switched on and off, it doesnt come on and go off with the ignition, and the multichanger has no power until the ignition is turned. This wasn't the case before...something strange has happened...fuse maybe?

fuse!!!

i had it with my alpine, i got a hairline crack in mine and it meant enough power go to the stereo to turn the gamma one on but not enough for the more powerful alpine

do they have an in-line fuse somewhere or is it all in the main fuse box? before i go tearing in about lol

Hey did you check the wiring???

changing the continues 12V with the switched 12V wiring??

This might do the trick, because the sony radio's are wired differently than the other brands.

theres the main fuse box, just below the headlight switches, you have to pull on the little dip on the plastic. It will be like pulling it towards you. Once thats out there should be a card telling you which fuse number is for the head unit. Then you just got to find it, check it and see what you find.

radio fuse is number 42 and is 15amp (blue)

also check fuse on back of radio is not blown, sometimes smaller blade type

the wiring swap over sounds like something to check also

well the 42 fuse was fine but another one was blown, think it was 16...cant remember. Its some sort of electrical fuse, i think it could've been blown when swapping stereos as the wire for the autochanger power dropped down so probably touched the body or something.

Changed it over and i'm still haven't problems with the autochanger and stereo not turning on and off with the ignition...but my dad says he'll wire it in somewhere else :-\
