well, they're not so red, more like faded pink,
i've read the posts on here about using polish or paint, well what i want to ask is, seeign as i'm having my alloys off for a few days in acouple of weeks, are the red bits on my brakes just a front cover or something? ie can i order four new ones from somewhere?

The easiest way todo them is with some T-cut as Si has metioned ! mine were faded quite a bit and I saw a post on a different forum about someone doing it with their golf anniverary which have the same red finish on the calipers. After you've removed the wheel make sure the caliper is fully clean and dry, then just use a good amount of t-Cut as you normally would on your paintwork, I left it on for a while and did it more than once on the heavily faded parts. After that your caliper should have its red slightly glossy look returned, I finished them off with some wax to protect the finish and also bring out a proper deep red shine, they will look as good as new when you've finished!
To keep them like this I just wax them every 2 or so weeks (i'm able to simply do it through the spokes of the wheels)
