alpine head unit and vw auto changer

Right i currently have the gamma head unit and a 6cd auto changer that came standard in the car, I want to upgrade the head unit to an alpine one i have a couple in mind but i dont want to loose my auto changer. is it possible to use them together...if so which head units can i do it with. Thanks for any help in advance im not too handy with audio bits so any help would be great.

There's been loadsa queries about this before, but unfortunately seems no one's figured a way around it yet
