hey im a new user on here. i hav a polo mk 2, 1.3 H reg 1990, 96k comin up on the clock. i need a new back box but may get all exhaust done 1st as last. priced 1 up n the shop thinks i got a CAT on it any 1 know is it true? i got a box in da front section of the exhaust so cud that be it... £120 for the complete exhaust special order aswell. been lookinn round 4 a growlin box £40 for a cherry bomb.

Hi meeky,
If its a UK spec MK2 then it won't have a catalytic converter.
You can get a new exhaust system for it from Eurocarparts or GSF Carparts.

it shouldnt have a Cat....... im sure it was jus the MK3+ and the injection modles???? mite be wrong... but i got a "late" spec MK2 F reg, and Zombie has a G plater.... neither of us had Cat's.... ???

The cat was an optional extra on all mk2's.. but very few people wanted to pay extra for it so there aren't many around. Most of them just have normal exhaust systems without a cat. Mk3's (1990 onwards, which might be the source of confusion - yours was built in the changeover year) all had cats as standard.
