Oil Max Mark...

Post by kapur »

Someone thought it'd be clever to put oil in the car, and not leave it to the VW specialists.

Now my problem is that i believe that the oil is over the MAX mark.

Have checked the dipstick, and like theirs a dent in it (which the oil mark should lie between, but the oil is way above that).

I'll try and grab some photos and upload them.

It does say on the cap not to overfill....

Now i think i'm stuffed. How long will the engine last before it messes up?

Any ideas as to what to do?

Looks like the cheap alternative to a home oil fill is gonna be costly in the long run.

How about draning either all of it out, or some of it until it sits where it should be?

Easiest way is to loosen the filter and let some drain.

Yep, should be in between the hashed area - more than enough, any over or under this area is bad for your car

As said, drain some off! either using the filter idea or down at the sump plug (hehe, why not do an oil change at the same time)

:)
