Polo GTI owners, a favour

Post by jezmk4 »

Yo

just wondering if a polo GTI owner could do us a favour

and tell us how many revs the engine is doing when the car is doing 100 in 5th?

Cheers!

I think 4000rpm is about 83 or 84 mph, which would make 100mph be about 4800, but i'll check tomorrow cos I might be talking rubbish!

Not too sure as Mike says around 85 is 4k, If I'm doing a hundred I'm either usually watching the road or looking for Police cars

yea i cant see a Gti having too many problems getting to near that speed

a 16v mk4 is only limited by the gear ratios an the rev limiter, if it had better ratios it would do more

A day out at Bruntingthorpe would be cool, would be nice to see what the Polo can get up to in a safe and legal environment  - they have various meets there every weekend with members from all sorts of car clubs turning up... chance of a uk-p meet do you think?

A trip to Brunters would be good, I'd love to give it a go as I say, see how many GTi's we can get there!
