i was looking into it aswell and you get a kit for abotu £80 its made by micorscan. it comes with all the instructions and whatsits to DIY. the only thing i did want to do is make it look as OEM as possible so i was looking into getting some VAG window swithces for the mk4 and the switches alone were gonna cost me £50 then dependining on how it would look with the blanking plate in teh door cards i would have got some of thoses with no hole for the window.
as for getting the wires into the door use the trunking thats already there. unscrew it with a C spanner then the other side should just pop out from the inside IIRC theres 3 clips inside the door holding the trunk on then it all jus pops apart for you to drill a bigger hole in it to fit the wires through.
theres a earth for the central locking in the passengers footwell by the purple attatchement for teh door trunking as for power you can either do what i did for my central locking and tap it off the fag lighter. or you can go all out and attatch it from the battery. just remember to check the ampage on the fuse to ensure the existing wireing you tap into can cope with it. (i changes my CL locking fuse for a 10 amp fuse and have no probs ( it was 15 amp)
