Its a 2001 with 28k on the clock, loads has been done plus its mint choice of bbs or schmidts wheels, standard or coilovers, etc etc
I think you lot no my car by now and how much its been looked after!!
I was thinkin around the 7k mark as i want a scooby and now im getin older b4 i commit to a house i want one!!
Personally I would like to have standard car where I can begin to mod, like a blank canvas, you have a vision of how it will turn out whereas an already modded car will be to the previous owners' liking...which isn't necessary everyone's cup of tea...if you know what I mean...
Depends really. I found with my car because the look i went for is OEM it sold better then standard. It seems people like cars either stock or lookalikes. I sold my 1.4 8v MPi for £5000 about 3 months ago. It had all the bits to make it look like a GTi and so got more attention.
Sorry to say but due to your car being red and 5 door i cannot see you getting top dollar for it. When i was looking arround ebay and autotrader for a GTi the red ones didnt sell whereas the Black and Silver ones sold like hot cakes. I must have phoned up about 50 GTi's and was only about 9 left that i could see.
I think your going to be looking @ £5,300-£5,700 if you hit it lucky. Ive seen red 5 doors sell for £4,200 with 30-40k on the clock. I almost bought a red one just because of how cheap they are now. Found a low mileage red one with leather etc for way less then mine.
Remember people wont pay more for mods, it just either makes a sale or breaks one.
O well back to the drawin board, im getin the arches flared on mon so ill keep it and charge the F*cker!!
Plus i Must admit not bein funny people (dont linch me) only by the silver and black ones cos they are metalic! Red looks so much better when waxed and shown properly!!
Its like the new golf GTi it only looks good in red also ferraris only look good in red!! get my point im tryin to make without upsetin people!!
Don't know about silver but black is a nightmare when you get any marks, scratches or imperfections of any kind! Can't argue that red looks good when it's freshly cleaned and polished but the other two colours will always sell better than the red, it's just the way the market is
Silver and Black are seen as safe colours. Just like white and red are seen as colours you might be able to sell. Doesnt mean that one is nicer then the other. I had a red polo for my first car and loved it. Looked soo good in the sun.
