Fairly simple to do, before i actually got off my arse and done it myself i thought it was really tricky and hard, but it took me about 1 hour and a half max to do it. Well mind you i did just change the front door speakers, but it was quite simple. Probably the hardest part would be getting the door cards off, unpluggin electric windows etc. There's a guide on the forum somewhere.

I think the correct size speaker you would need is 17.5 mm, or 6.5 inch i believe, correct me if im wrong. As for the speakers in the pillars, those are tweaters, haven't got round to changing them, need to cos they sound like s***, but i have pulled those out before jus to see what can fit there.

As for the back speakers, i have a 3 door and i got 2 speakers in the back also, those need changing which again is straight forward. Not really too sure how a 5 door car speaker setup is, unless its the same.

As for what an amp is, maybe someone else can explain it, i hate explaining technical stuff. ha

all an amp basically does is enable higher volumes wihout loosing clarity of music etc

it takes the signal from your head unit and boosts the power of it before sending it to your speakers

not always needed if you just want general listening as your headunit one will do
