And also, does anyone know where I can find door sills with 'Polo 16V' on them? Thanks :)
Mate!!! I just bought them from the exact same person!! they sent me the wrong ones and they took 6 days now I have to send them back and hopefully they will send the right ones, beware mate

my mate bought some silvatec bulbs from this seller... false advertising and they sent my mate a set of crappy make'd silver bulbs... they dont leave feedback until you have done so.

side repeater sets often include the bulbs, the 1s i bought from euro car parts for my mk4 had bulbs included :)

becarefull when buying the side repeaters as you're more than likely to get the wrong ones.... ask to see tha back of them so you know they will fit....
As for taking them off.... Just Push left or right (depends) and it should come out... Take one out to see which ones you need & then buy them

i dont know about the ones from aw..gti..
there seems to be 2 types... ones with this plastic thing sticking out from behind and ones without it where you just screw them onto ur bulb holder...
Id recommend taking one of urs off to see which ones you need...
Then shop around (id recommend ebay for this) and look for the ones you need, make sure u can see a picture of them from behind so u know they will deffo fit..

Repeaters

Post by martin9aj »

Basically from what ive worked out there are 2 different types of these repeaters:

a) Mk4 Polo, Mk3 Golf
AND
b) Mk3 Polo, Mk4 Golf,Lupo, even a Ford Sharan and all other NEWER VWs

The difference being the BACK of the repeater

you MUST check first as the bulb holders will NOT fit a 6N if you use the the newer type repeaters, thats all the difference is the bulb holders.

I myself bought the wrong ones for a `97 6N. I bought the later ones BUT...

you can however (which is what I have done) fit the Crystal Clear repeaters form a Mk5 polo, Mk4 Golf by modifying them abit... All you have to do is change the bulb holder to the later type, Cut the old one off, use some spade connecters to connect to the new bulb holder which will fit the later style repeater lenses and there you have it! takes just minutes!

Sorry if that sound confusing! basically itd be easier to use ones that fit!

Oh yeah and you wont need expensive silver style bulbs as there is a chrome "lining" in the centre of the repeater lense that will cover the orange bulb
