Post by poloke »

Hi guys, does anyone have experience with the bmc carbon air filter?
I have heard that the filter is really good stuff. Is this right?

The filter is HEAVY ! You get what you pay for really, it is more expensive than say a KnN, BUT it sounds twice as good and friom my experience KnN's make yr car run a bit poo.

Id recommend the BMC CDA to anyone thinking of getting an induction kit.

Youll constantly be playing with the noise when u get it hahah !

bmc is awsome, i had one on my 1.4 8v and it was wikd!
makes same noise as the pipercross viper kit if you have heard one of those, the performance is better and they look wicked too, i have a pic of mine in members ride, see link below. Had to adapt it to mine as they dont make one to fit, but they do for the gti!

not to put u off buyin a BMC but someone said the K&N makes the car run poo.... it doesnt!

i have a K&N induction kit on my GTI along with a de-cat ans recently had it on the rollers the other day (also had super unleaded 97 RON) and made 135.4bhp!!

cant say thats bad!

You need to have the BMC or some sort of filter which is incased to give max performance if mounted over the engine if not buy a cone induction kit and mount it low in the front bumper!!

K&N panel filter is pretty good but my when i changed it for the BMC it was pants!! A must i think!!
