Must have been a weekend for it. I got back of holiday on saturday and had the same problem. I found that it was one of the leads gone wrong.

Problem now solved with a price tag of £542.72. The garage found a cable tie jammed in one of the valves and had to do a s**t load of work to remove it. here is the list of parts replaced:

Headset - £87.29
Head Bolts - £40.60
Cambelt - £13.18
Tensioner - £31.06
Waterpump - £24.50
Oil Filter - £3.86
Head Skim - £35.00
Engine Oil - £9.80
Antifreeze - £6.60

And the labour was £210.00
