Danny, welcome!

Removing the head unit is pretty easy. You'll need a couple of slim feeler gauges...if you look either side of the two "rocker" controls on the head, you'll see 2 vertical slots. Gently push the feeler blade into the slot until you feel it disengage the clip - do the other side and you should be able to pull the head unit out.

Hope this helps you?

no pics of my car yet laura as its just a standard black x reg polo s it looks just like yours tho! wat engine is yours? mines the 1.4 8v (upsetingly slow 4 a 1.4 as my mates in ther punto 1.2's and ther 206 1.1's can easily keep up) :(

thanx paul ive gota say i am very happy with my car but for a 1.4i 8v with 60bhp i think its quite under powered compared to other small cars:
106 1.1i = 60bhp
saxo 1.1i = 60bhp
fiesta 1.2 zetec = 75bhp
nova 1.4 8v = 82bhp
clio 1.4rt 8v = 80bhp

you can see my point

at the end of the day the polo is built to last and won't fall apart like other cars, and is one of the best small cars for ice installs because of its strong integral structure, who cares if its slow, you can never go fast anywhere these days because of too much traffic/police

enjoy cruising in your new polos

all have sideskirts, but 16v's have a smooth sideskirt in one piece, 8v and lower have a side skirt with two circle in-dents at each end and a small cut at drivers door (not one piece)

underpowered

Post by paulzpolo »

before i got my polo, i had an 03 smart city coupe with remap which took the power to 84bhp not bad for 700cc turbo just to say it was bloody quick not much could keep up with it from lights! lol
