Sill Protectors (Pics now up)

Post by ModifiedMadness »

I fitted my GTi sill protectors earlier, probably not in the best of light (5.00pm  ) but they look mint.

I'll try get some pics tomorrow before I take it up to have the front bumper smoothed and the splitter sprayed :D

So it's looking like this

Dude, you've got some skills with the virtual paintbrush! *doffs cap*

Question is, where are you going to relocate your numberplate to?

doff (dof || dawf) tr.v doffed, doffing, doffs. 1. To remove or take off: doff one's clothes. 2. To lift or remove (one's hat) in salutation. 3. To throw out or away; discard. [Middle English doffen, from don off : don, to DO + OFF.]

We'll go for option 2, basically "doffing my cap" is like my acknowledgment of your abilities with Photoshop/Paint Shop Pro in virtually smoothing your bumper... another example of my slightly alarming eccentricities

It's not a phrase that is in common use any more, sadly...

So, lifting your cap off and putting it back on your head?

Effectively, I guess so, yeah. In a virtual fashion (I'm not actually wearing a cap you understand) :)

The car is now with the bodyshop, I'll be picking her up on Friday. Here are the pics of the Sill Protectors as promised. Fitting them was easier than measuring and cutting I'll say that much.

Looks great

Anychance the GTI can be removed or rubbed off? lol, as previous discussion, I don't want to put them with GTI text on a non-GTI car

As I think ICEYPOLO said, they can't be removed no, but you could always get some vinyl of your own choice to go over it, either that or get some custom made, they're only vinyl so it wouldn't be that hard, and you could have your own design 8)
