You will be suprised the Gamma radio doesn't look like much but its actually pretty good - And I'm really picky about stereos!

I saw a DIY guide to doing the alloys yourself. Was it on here? Anyway, if you bite the bullet and get the tyres dismounted, its then a case of taking the rims off as they are proper splitties. Then you can go to town and get the perfect finish on them by working them painstakingly - but at least you can do it infront of the fire whilst watching TV.

I've just read something from another forum which says:

I think the main difference is the ability to adjust fade from front to back IIRC. The left knob used to change volume has only 3 buttons, bass, treble and balance, where as the gamma has fade also. This probably indicates that cars fitted with beta are less likely to have rear speakers, or you just can't adjust them. IMO the beta radio is probably a lower quality and probably less output power than a gamma.

Big difference, basically, very different spec. Beta is basically so that you can say you have a stereo.

Gamma does everything else, including recording traffic reports when its switched off. which I don't think the beta does.

Also I do know that replacement of the gamma if yours got stolen is very expensive.

It has a traffic information memory feature. (TIM) Its not really asleep, just pretending..... You can set it to do it for 24H or just 2H. Then it goes into deep sleep.
