Help, I have some problems with my Polo

Post by aayus »

Hi, I am new to this forum. I have always loved vw cars. I have just bought a 2001 1.4 Polo (I think its a Mk 5) about 5 days ago. But I have found certain problems which I was hoping I could get help.

* The dashboard says that I have an air-bag problem.
* The front wipers dont work on the slow and intermitent settings
* The rear wipers dont work at all.
* And the radio (which is a VW Beta) has "Error 3" on the display.

All the other electrics work fine. I dont know any mechanics in Birmingham nor do I know what to do in these cases. This is my 1st car please help!

geez
this may sound silly but didn't you get the option to check all these things before buying it?
sounds like its going to cost alot of money, because most of the parts that have gone wrong, are vw dealer specific fixes
Airbag for definate!

my best advice i can give is too get hold of the new Vw polo 00- Haynes Manual and have a good read
Failing that try a local garage.

nah, if ur airbag light is on mate then get it straight to a vw dealer. it may just be a dodgy code being sent and they may be able to sort this by just plugging the car in2 one of their laptops/computers and resetting the signal.
hope everything works out for ya ok
