Wheel Hub?

Post by Mk2Adam »

Does anyone know if the front wheel hub from a Mk3 is a straight swap for a Mk2 hub, just i need a new hub for my mk2 hatch and mr pettsy is breaking a mk3?

Any Advice would be much apreciated.

as far as i no they would be the same. but don't take my word for it! i believe they kept the same type of suspension through the mk2 to the mk3, only the g40's and possibly gt's had very slightly different. they had a slightly different top strut mounting.

Hopefully someone will be able to give you a bit more information

are wheel hubs dodgy from breakers etc then? i got a quote from VAG parts and from the dealers and they were both around £58 and £70, so i hope it's okay to buy a used one. :(

the problem with getting stuff from breakers is you can't garantee the thing will be alright! plus if u buy it, and it is damaged, it would be extremly unlikely that the breakers would give you your money back!

also, at least if you buy one from a dealers, you'll have a reciept etc and someone to shout at if it goes wrong!
