Recaros

Post by Jillwilson »

They are bolted on in a totally different way I'm afraid however if you fancy recaros why not try and get some polo concept seats they are a much better shape and fit straight in but they go for about £400.
HopE that helps

The golf mk4 has a totally different subframe from the 9n. Because these seats are factory fitted option recaro DONT do subframes to fit these seats! However recaro do make a suframe for the 9n but these do not fit Factory fitted recaros, only aftermarket ones for example if you went into a shop to buy a recaro seat. If that makes sense. Also the airbag plugs are totally different. Old golfs ie mk4, lupos etc run a 3 runner type system where as the new golf and polo run a 2 runner system. Basicly if you want to fit these you need to be prepared to make a custom subframe or second option is to cut your original seat frames off then some how weld them to the bottom of the golf seats. I have diagrams of the polo subframe if you require them. Also the polo frames are approx £170 each. Not cheap! Anything is possible but its not a straight swap. I recon you would be best buying an aftermarket recaro seat then buy the recaro frame. Recaro frames are only £95 each I think.

Only colour concept seats from a 9n will fit but from nothing else! And trying to find these would be almost impossible. I have only ever seen 1 set from as polo fun in yellow leather.

Ceedubya are your seats actual recaros? The audi TT can have two types of seats fitted. One are the standard ones that are not recaro seats they only have recaro subframes and are often confused for being recaro items. The second TT option is recaro total sport/bucket seats what do you have?

Re-trim

Post by Jillwilson »

Why not spend your money on tarting your old seats up do them in leather looks good and at the end of the day it'll be original and exactly how you want them plus they'll still fit lol.
