Annoying Problem
Annoying Problem
Hi dudes,
Took my car in to dealership today cause of a leak. apparently the rear wiper is leaking water into the car (the wash thing doesnt work and is pissing somewhere). Because they wouldn't do it on warrenty and were gonna charge me 50 notes just to strip it down I told them not to bother. Has anyone else had this happen and know how to fix it? if so could you explain please?
Would appreciate it.
cheers[/b]

Hi there this is a really easy problem to fix. the rear washer pipe splits in the cold weather, it often freezes and then when you try to wash the rear window it leaks in. Or it becomes detatched, either way but removing the plastic in the boot on the actual boot lid you can see what the problem is,

hi mate, i had the exact same but didnt even wanna ask a stealer to look at it. Wheres it leaking into? i found that my rear offside seat ( behind passenger seat) has a small white water stain ( no jokes guys! ).
What i done was:
1. Move your front seats as far forward as they will go to give you room.
2. Remove the seat base ( no essential but again more room )
3. Remove the screws securing the rear door card ( they are on the side beside the seat belt. )
4. Remove the rear seat backrest anchorage bolt.
5. Remove the rear door card ( up the towards you )
6. The water tube carrying water to the rear washer is in with the cables for the rear lighting.
7. Look for a black pipe that has a connector or lack of one also. It should be below the bottom left corner of window.
8. Once located check it condition, most cases the tubes are pushed apart in the winter. At this point thank yourself for not going to a stealer, they would have pushed it back on and shut up shop. NOT what to do.
9. Take a piece of shrink tubing or gaffa tape and make sure the connectors are secure.
10. Check it works
11. Re-install everything
and 12. Go to the pub and spend the £50 on ice cold magners!
Oh btw this is probably only useful if you have a 3dr like me.
Hope it helps.

the one on my ibiza apparently just popped off where the pipe connects to the window sprayer. Seat charged a tenner to investigate and fix as its not covered under Seat warranty. overall tho i didn't mind paying becoz the fluid was going straight in2 the light housing in the boot which could have cost me a lot more!!
