Hi, all!! Long time since i have been around.. Just a little picture of what you guys in england and southern europe dont have to hassle with!

And shaved doors in -20C does not work! .. doh!

Got me snow tyres at the ready on the old Polo steelies for when (if the weather forcasters have got their predictions right) it does come....

Always had a set of snow tyres handy for the rest of my fleet but I never needed more than one set as they all shared the same PCD and offset - 4 wheels and tyres didn't take up too much space in the shed

8 however has caused some raised eyebrows from SWMBO - especially when I chucked the lawnmower out to make some room.....

"what love - we don't have any grass anymore - why do we need a lawnmower!!!"

OK we do have some grass but it's under 8 pallets of bricks for the current extension and when they are all used up I'm block paving the lot!!!

Part of me is looking forward to some snow and part of me isnt.
Theres a big child in me that wants to go out and play in the snow.... and theres the so called mature side of me thats is thinking oh nooo how am I gonna drive in these conditions.... Last year I was skidding in the supermarket car park which had to be controlled with a handbrake turn

and the car behind me wasnt so lucky and just went straight into a wall

A lot of wheel spinning in the snow tho which can be fun....lol

Remember - smoooooooooooth is the key to driving on snow or ice

my method is treat as a personal competition - every one of the following is 1 point deducted for each occurance

- Wheelspin
- Locked wheel(s)
- Slide

Start the day with 50 points and try to beat your previous days total - everyday the snow continues - it will make you a better driver and people in the car will comment on how in control you are

I'm not trying to preach or lecture here but trust me on this one - you do not want to loose control on snow or ice it will cost you lots of money in repair bills - the damage to suspension and wheels when you sideswipe into a kerb wil be incredible as it's designed to take bumps in a normal plane not a sideslide

Oh and as a treat go find a big empty car park on an idustrial estate with no kerbs that will be hidden by snow and have a let of steam 15mins where if you do slide it isn't gonna hurt!!!

Amen to that. My old man did a fair amount of damage to his Scooby trying to drift it. He was wearing wellys at the time which didn't help, crazy fool

Must have been. Trying to show off his old "Auto-Testing skills", forgetting that it was about 30 years since he last did it competitively. Haven't let him forget, and that Scooby was never the same afterwards.

my fave 3 snow pictures and it was unbelivably warm that day +2 or 3 degrees.

the best one was watching that guy in the Lada race round his homemade dirt track.

Think ive driven in the snow 3 or 4 times - n i only passed my test in April! Mind you this was with my family in the car so traction is increased, plus ive got skinny 155 tires, so i could go places where my dad couldnt with his A4.
