Got pulled today......

Post by polopowah »

......for the plates haha, i knew it!
for those who don't know i had put german plates front and back (white) on my car.
They also tracked my speed at 78mph so i was casually speeding aswell, like the rest of the cars around me
but hey i got off with a caution and the policeman was really nice
"wipes brow"

I've been stopped by the police with german plates on.

Officer asked "why I had a D on my number plates" but seemed generally more interested than anything else.

But yeah, yellow one on the back might be an idea

My bro said that as long as they're the right colour then it's fine, doesn't matter that they have a D on the side 8) He's in the job.

Perhaps just me, but I'd rather not draw attention from the cops.

Even though I'm not speeding or anything, I still would like to be invisible to them.

I did get pulled for accelerating away from their crappy pigot too fast. Apparently they had to do 50 to catch me.

I was going to go on about physics and that the gap opens up as a result of the time between cars and not the speed difference but thought better of it.

Luckily my Drivers License says my title (Dr) which helped immensely. Basically "being a Dr you'll want to keep your license clean?"... yadda yadda yadda.

Handy those PhDs! :D was he thinking MD? Prat....

What is the penalty for having white pressed metal number plates front and back? No dodgey spacing or extra pins etc.

But if you have a white front plate and a yellow rear plate, you won't be drawing attention to yourself even with the D on it, if that is no problem. The only reason they'd have picked up on it is that he had a white rear plate.

60 pound fine and 3 points, for displaying an incorrectly number plate or failure to display any number plate. They had to add the 3 points, because if you took off your back plate, you could speed and it was better than a speeding fine, since you only paid the 60 quid, but the wised up to it.

If, however, the officer cannot be bothered with the paperwork (about 15 minutes worth) then you will get away with a caution - which means your car will be flagged up on their system, and they will be more interested if you get pulled again.
