smoothing my front bumper polo gti,

I was thinking of smoothing my front bumper and getting rid of the bump strip on it, a couple of guys at my work think i should plastic weld it? because filler and fibreglass would crack? any help would be greatful, cheers

if you can afford to get it plastic welded then go for it but the plastic rods are god damn expensive i'm told!!

i've had mine done with fibreglass/ filler and it has now sunk in a couple of places so will be getting re-done in the new year... depends on the bodyshop and their knowledge i guess!?
