Only had my GTi for abt a week now, will check tommorow morning.
However I use to own a mk4 polo and I would have notice if there was a crack there.
Waxed the car 100's of times never notice anything there.

Mine has the cracks aswell. I think that its just a rubber sealant that is sprayed the same colour as the car and after a while the paint "cracks".
Don't think its much to worry about!

Just had a thought....take it to your local vw dealer, should that not be covered under the VW Warrantee....which is 5 years for paint work?

you might need to do more than just touch up, i dod this and mines now a nice rust bubble about the size of a 50p piece!
getting it treated in the new year with a bit more bodywork so it wont work out too expensive hopefully!

I also have this.... on the right hand side only though. I noticed it soon after I bought the car, and assumed it was caused by a slight knock the previous owner had.

Just checked mine I have very thin hairline one on the right same location as in the picture.
Was to cold to properly investigate..........
Thats where the body panels meet, I believe its a soft sealent.
Am due an appointment on the 10/12/05 at VW, il ask them abt it....
