Tinting spray + headlights
Whats the deal on using tint spray (like from halfrauds) to tint the headlights?
I was thinking of buying a new set of lights (+ smoked indicators) and attempting to tint them to the same degree as the indicators (i mean the slightly smoked ones, not the full on black ones)
Any ideas? Has it been done before?

Err don't want to rain on your parade but I think it would be unwise to tint the headlights - As much light on the road at night as you can get is a good thing!!!helios1 wrote:Whats the deal on using tint spray (like from halfrauds) to tint the headlights?

If you want to get a smoke finish uniform accross the headlights and indicators get some headlight lens protectors and tint them for day time use only - maybe!!!

ok, I understand, well, it's legal over here to spray anything other than the reflecting parts, so why won't it be legal across the Canaal?helios1 wrote:I was thinking of getting some new lights, taking them apart and spraying the very front part of 'em, as in the bits that aren't reflected from the lights but are in contact with the glass, know the bit i mean?

oh, and a tip for taking of the glass of your lights, put the entire units in the oven, warm it up, take a dump while wainting, and your able to take of the glass more easily (I'm told to use a piece of fishing 'rope' to 'cut'/'saw' it of (saw through the glue which sticks the glass on the units))helios1 wrote:I was thinking of getting some new lights, taking them apart and spraying the very front part of 'em, as in the bits that aren't reflected from the lights but are in contact with the glass, know the bit i mean?

@helios1: no, taking the dump won't help the speeding of your project, but it will be of use for your body, which will be lighter afterwards, and your 1/4 mile time will drop a couple of seconds, which is sweet for those street-run-races at night
and you could use the stuff that's used to glue spoilers to the rear of cars, in Holland we call it spoiler-kit, French call it Mastique de spoiler, dunno the english word sorry
