EPC Light

Post by ModifiedMadness »

Was driving along yesterday, and noticed something out the corner of my eye, looked at the dials and saw EPC, so in between driving and stopping in traffic, I was trying to look it up in the book. Once I found it I saw 'Engine Management....Take it to be looked at as soon as possible' Now me being the pesimistic type thought, that's going to cost me.

Anyway, went down to V-Dub, they looked at it came up to me and said "it's your brake light switch, we've got one here and we can do it right now for you"

Sorted, minor problem and cost me nothing as it's under warranty

Morale is, I'm glad I have warranty :D

yeah the manual doesnt have a very helpful description of the EPC light does it!

If that light comes on it normally means your brakelights aren't working so still a good idea to get it sorted asap.

My light came on, they diagnosed the problem as a faulty ECU, i told them to f**k off, got a VAG cable, diagnosed it as a falty radiator, fitted one. Light went off.

Moral of the story is kindergardens know more then VW.
