Hi guys i just bought a Polo Gti its a 2000 X reg and when i turn the ignition on all the warning lights come on but then two of them stay on one says EPC and the other is a symbol with check underneath. As soon as i start the car they go off. Is this normal or not. Car drives fine apart from that. Also the passenger window wont open but i can hear the motor trying to work when u press the button. Anyidea? Any help most appricated. Thanks.

Not sure about your dash lights mate, I'm trying to remember which ones of mine are on with the ignition - I think EPC is one of them, and extinguishes when you start the car as you say. Second one on mine... might be handbrake? Will check shortly!
My driver's side window recently started to really struggle, there was definite resistance when the window was coming back up and it sounded like the motor was really straining. Replaced the motor and it had no effect, turned out it was the window regulator that needed replacing - all is fine now! Except of course I have my old (still-working) window motor sat here doing 'nout!

Oh and welcome to the forum!
EDIT: double-checked for you... all lights flash up, then after a couple of seconds they all go out except for EPC, the handbrake light (if applicable) and the battery symbol. Then when turned over all lights go out except for handbrake, if it's applied.
