a sad day for me

Post by david burton »

I've made the decision that I'll be selling the mint blue 16v motor early next year. will be sorry to see it go, but I think I'm going to be moving on to a Leon TDI at some point to eat the miles to work.

so it's not sold yet, but the thought process has now been completed

would love to transfer the bits onto the black 8v for the bird, but as usual - I'll get the best return by turning the car back to standard and selling the other stuff separately.

so watch this space.

It will take me a long time to find a fjord blue 16v motor that wants to swap exhausts and a rear bumper tho, so I might have to sell the car with the exhaust on :)

if anyone wants to offer me stupid money for the whole lot, then let me know ;)

Never an easy decision. Let people know its for sale so you can gather a few offers in and you never know you might just get the price you're after.

Good Luck with the sale!

sorry to hear about your decision, but quite right, if ur doing alot of miles to and from work, u need something a bit more fuel effiecient and at least this way, u won't damage the car on the motorway! :P

good luck with the sale!

p.s. lovely colour!

cheers

the 8v is doing the hard miles, the 16v only has 46k on it. I'll wait till after christmas to shift the car (better price) but I'll be advertising bits and bobs (including my boot install  over the next month or two - as and when I remove the bits!)

I should see 3k for the car on it's own (after christmas) as it's in such good nick - if I sell the bits separately I'll probably get a fair bit more than leaving them on. leaving them on I'd probably get about 3250 for the car (:?: ) but taking them off should see me get another 500 (ignoring ICE).

the ICE is worth a fortune!

a pain, but always the way!

if there are any other fjorb blue 16v's out there, then a rear bumper and exhaust swap could be arranged (it's got a cutout)! ortherwise I'll leave the lowering springs and exhaust on the car.
