I'm a bit stuck about my head unit and speakers. Having spent a long time getting the old stereo out and putting the new one in, and sorting out the ipod connection, I am now stuck. In my old car I had rear speakers already, and (as I'm a student) made my own acoustic shelf and connected the 6by9's using normal speaker wire that you use for a home stereo. I'm doing the same with the Polo (6N), but as there's no speakers in the rear, I can't figure out how I can connect the speakers to the HU as there's nowhere I can connect the normal speaker wires?
Do I need to buy an amp, or is there special wires I need to buy to connect the speakers to the HU. If it's any help the head unit is a Sony cdx-f7500:
Sorry probably didn't make it too clear! I get that I have to route it from the rear to the head unit, however, what type of wires do I use, as I can't see where I would put any wire of any sort, unless it is an aux wire, in to the back of the head unit? Is it that black thingy, the sort of square box with lots of wires coming out of it?
no probs! thank you anyway. Anyone else have any idea, it's really bugging me as I have marked out where I need to cut out on the parcel shelf, just waiting to see if I should cut it now, as if I need to buy a seperate amp or expensive wiring I don't think I'll bother! Help please?!
Yo dude, yeah its possible. You can use the house speaker your using, its all pretty much the same. On the back of your head unit, you'll have whats known as as ISO conection (the plug eith loads of wires going into it) this plusg then sperates into two different plugs. One is your power earth and neutral etc, usually red brown black yelloe etc.
The other one is your speakers.
There should be 8 wires in total two of each colour (i think the colours are purple, grey, black anf green), One colour is front right, one is front left, another is rear right, and the last is rear left. The two wires for each colour are positive and negative.
I cant remember which does which sorry.
Hope that helps
Its not hard to work it out.

ahhhh thank you very much, much appreciated. Is it easy enough to put the wires in to the ISO connecters, I've taken some pics of the connections from the back of the head unit. I can see the different connections, i.e. the speaker wires, the earth etc. but I can't see where I can put new speaker wires, would I have to disconnect a pair at the front to make room for the 6 by 9's?
