Exhaust Emission Warning Lamp - Engine Check

Post by stoo »

Hi All,

I had this light come on about 2 weeks ago when there was heavy frost. I took it to a VW dealer that charged me £60 which replaced a plug lead. Anyway the light remained for the next 48hours and then suddenly went out. I got them to check it again and they found nothing. SInce then it seemed fine.

Now the light has just come on again after another heavy frost this morning. Could this weather be a factor? Anyone know what to do about this as going to a dealer seems an expensive option since first time around they charged me £60 for a £10 lead!

Cheers

im havin exactly the same problem at the moment to, but I figured it was that the lambada sensor had gone, and i aint gonna pay those bastards at VW £160 just to fix a sensor, it dont do much anyway (i think). They were gonna try and charge mt £50 just to stick the diagnositcs machine in the port. its not worth it.
