Calling out PPL with DTM Exhausts (+others)

Post by mysteryboy »

Alright guys,

Once again Im one step ahead of myself....
Has anyone here fitted a DTM (twin tailpipe) exhaust and if so any pictures?
I want to get it under the rear bumper so will I need brackets?
I believe its the same situation with other exhausts too so how did you get it under the rear bumper? Any Rattling or rubbing (vibrating)?

Many Thanks!!!

I cut my bumper (16v one) out so it could sit higher, no rubbing or anything.

Cheers. Do you have a dtm? Im told these are really loud, how loud are we talking here lol...
I wont be fitting it myself but where ever I go nobody want to cut the bumper do no welding... so what exactly do they do... lazy mechanics these days... just want an easy pop on and finish jobbies...

should be good mate!! i had a dtm on my mk5 and the garage managed to hang it under the bumper perfectly with no cutting in2 the bumper. even tho the car was lowered, it only clanged ocassionally on speed bumps or when i had excess people in the rear!
ben's (polopowah) car is much lower than wot i had!!

yo matey
got a DTM scorpion on mine
its not loud at all, its lovely and has a nice deep tone, i didn't cut the bumper either. I get a little vibration when the exhaust warms up dunno if the heat causes the rear bumper to expand or something? but it sounds mean with abit of vibration i think!

heres a pic dude.........

chassis is the same length, so no
But....the rear bumper on the mk5 is abit chunkier i think, which explains the exhaust not sticking out as far
