Post by Biddle »

Dunno if any one is able to point out the difference from the polo MK4 and the Mk4 Facelift. Any pics would be a help too. Thanks

Depends what u mean, as some may regard the mk5 as a face lift polo, or the mk4 had a few subtle changes.

the mk4 subtle changes on later models were i believe larger arches which allowed bigger rims and a lip on the boot lid....

As too the diff to mk4 and mk5 quite a bit different I had a mk4 and now a mk5.

Have a look in the mk4 and mk5 gallery u will see the difference I loved my mk4 but I love my mk5 even more...

Passenger airbag became standard too, and many later cars have ABS.

The first Mk4s were from '95 to '98. In '98 they had all the electronics changed, had new dials and airbags n stuff standard. Nothing on the outside changed.

Dude that's a mk5

Not sure if that was what he meant...probably was.... but either way the mk4 "facelift" was just the subtle changes to the interior and wheelarches.

Anyone got any pics to show the differences between the early & late mk4 dials?

Not sure if mine are old or new as mine's a Dec 97 car :?

Your wrong, the 6n2 that i showed is actually the mk4 still, but facelifted, hence the lights being changed (face).

Yep Phil is right. Some people referr to the 6n2 as the mark 5 but technically the mark 5 is the 9n and the latest 9n2 is the facelift of that, with the 6n2 being the mark 4

Dont germans call it a 6nF as well?

I think you will find that the small changes made to the 6n where just normal developments changes but the official mark 4 face list IS the 6n2

Was just going by what the first reply to the question said!

The mk4 had several minor changes in it's time before the mk5 was launched,

But anyway, I have the later spec dials and stuff in that case.
