Water vapour spray

Post by Reeyad »

I ve heard a few peeps speak about a water vapour spray a mate of mine was going on abt it for his Golf mk3 GTi.

Apprantly increases performance and makes the car a lot smoother.

Anyone have knowledge on this and may be some feed back from personaly experience on there car.

Hmm, water vapour spray is normally used on stuff like Impreza STI's and Mitsubishi Evo's.

From what I remember, they work (on the above cars at least) by spraying a mist over the intercooler intake. This cools the air and increases its density making it more effective.

My Father's Impreza STi had one which worked manually by pressing a button on the dash. Did it make a difference? Not that I ever noticed in using it.

From what I understand, you're right mate, it sprays over the intercooler to cool the air more.

Water injection is not same as a water spray on an intercooler to bring down the charge temperature

I have an intercooler spray on my Fabia!

It's not the same as aquamist... Aquamist uses a mist of water that is sprayed into the air intake, cooling the air and lowering the chance of knock, so you can run increased timing etc.
