Carpet Mats

Post by grantcolborn »

Hi, I've just bought a new 55 plate gt tdi polo but i didn't get any carpet mats. Does anyone know where I can find them? The obvious one is my local VW dealer but I want to have a look at what else is available

yeah your best bet would be VW. Halfords do universal ones to fit the polo. If your into max power type ones, most of the main mag's do universal ones.

vw ones are generally more expensive, but they fit exactly and of decent quality

welcome!

I'd go to VW and get them - better fit, better quality and just look nicer

VW mats are definitely worth the extra.

Welcome to the forum, and remember to post some pics of your car in the members rides section!

i got mine in halfords and they are damn nice!

not exactly top quality, but they are only to wipe your feet on  they sell all the charver max power s**t style ones, but i got some plain black with a bright blue piping round them which matches the colour of my car!

look really good, so its pointless gettin ripped off by vw, when cheap alturnatives are about

fitted mats for mine were about £35 from vw - seems fairly reasonable and certainly decent quanlity.

GOT MY FIRST SET OF MATS FROM VEE DUB. £30 AND THEY TOOK ABOUT 3 WEEKS TO IMPORT FROM GERMANY WHEN THE CAR 1ST CAME OUT, 2 YEARS LATER I GOT A WHOLE ALL THE WAY THROUGH WHERE THE HEEL OF MY RIGHT SHOE GRINDS THE MAT WHEN ROCKING BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN THE BRAKE AND ACCELERATOR.
CALLED JUST MATZ AND THEY SAID THEYD MAKE SOME WOLFSBURG EDITION ONES AND BRING THEM TO EDITION 38 SO I DIDNT HAVE TO PAY POSTAGE, GOT THERE AND THEY DIDNT HAVE EM. WENT TO R&A DESIGNS TRADE STAND AND THEY HAD A SET OF BLACK MATS WITH COLOURED WOLFBURG EDITION LOGOS FOR THE 9N FOR ONLY £28. I DONT NORMALLY USE R&A AS THEY TAKE AGES AND AGES AND AGES AND AGES TO DELIVER BUT AT THE SHOW YOU GET THEM THERE AND THEN.
UNLIKE THE VEE DUB STANDARD MATS THEY HAD A THICK BIT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE SO MY RIGHT FOOT DOESNT WARE THEM OUT TOO QUICKLY. AND THEY GO WITH THE WHOLE WOLFSBURG EDITION THEME WITH THE REST OF THE CAR (MATS, DUST CAPS, TAX DISC HOLDER, CHROME BADGE ON THE BACK, STICKERS ON WING MIRROR GLASS, CHROME ROUND SIDE STICKERS ON THE CORNER OF THE REAR WINDOWS, ONE OFF MADE IN ITALY WOLFSBURG EDITION HAT ON PARCEL SHELF, AND PROBABLY OTHER THINGS THAT I CANT REMEMBER)
