My car was 3 years and 5ish months old

Pedal Box gubbed: marched into VW and demanded they fixed it - as i have the same pedal box as the GTi and you (vw) are recalling the GTi

After a few managers - i got my way

Dam Right - There Fault they Pay (They wanted 400 ood quid to fix it - ti*s)

They just recalled the GTIs unfortunately as they was more than their fair share of them failing...however if other MkVs are beginning to experience the same problem then I would suggest each of you contact VW direct and get yourselves noticed, once there is a majority of you then they will most likely have to do something about it.

they wouldnt fix mine, said it was waer and tear, wrote a letter to them saying I wasnt happy but they sent one back saying they cant do anything and if I wanted it fixed it would be babout 400. took it to my local garage he welded a metal plate to the bulkhead and fixed it for £180

I still don't know what the exact problem is? Mine creaks like hell, but I have eyeballed it for cracks and stuff and it looks fine. What should I be looking for?

I finally thought I'd traced the creak to the clutch release lever, as such I will live with it until my clutch bites the dust (pun intended)
