Post by fatty »

HELLO PEPLE I AM HAVING A BIG PROBLEM EVERY DAY WHEN I WAKE UP READY FOR WORK MY 1.6 GLX 6N NEVER STARTS THE FIRST TIME. I HAVE TO START IT AND HOLD THE GAS DOWN FOR A LITTLE WHILE AND EVAN THEN IT CUTS OUT. AND IF IT DOES START THE REV COUNTER WILL GO UP AND DOWN IN NUTURAL POSITION. ANY IDEAS PLEASEEEE.

Turn the caps lock off - it's hard to read and implies you are shouting!

Agree with Wesley666, for the fiver u spend, carb cleaner really works well. i had the idling jumping up and down like yours, but this sorted it It is said to spray when your car is off, but do it whilst on, holding the revs steady at first. then spray it down a few times with the car off too

Judging by the amount of threads you make.

Buy a new car.

How can you hold a steady rev? Put a brick on the accelerator pedal or something? And as for when the engine is switched off, the throttle body wont open will it?

I used a piece of piping I found and wedged it between the drivers seat and the pedal.

The throttle body butterfly thing will definately open with the engine off. Its just operated by a wire basically, so when you press the accelerator pedal it pulls the wire which opens the butterfly thing. Very technical stuff!
